PCs for People is a national nonprofit working to get low-cost quality computers and internet into the homes of individuals and families with low income. By recycling and then refurbishing computers, PCs for People provides a valuable service to businesses, families, and the planet by keeping computers out of landfills and repurposing them to advance digital inclusion.

Since 1998, PCs for People has become a national leader in digital inclusion by serving over 520,000 individuals, providing 190,000 home computers, connecting 77,000 households to the internet, and responsibly recycling over 9 million pounds of electronic waste through the secure e-waste recycling service. Technology for Individuals and Families with Low Income

We provide affordable computers and internet solutions to eligible customers who are enrolled in income-based government assistance programs or whose income is under 200% of the federal poverty level. Learn more at www.pcsforpeople.org/eligibility.

Electronics Recycling

We provide electronics recycling to businesses at no charge, accepting a wide range of equipment and free pickup for a minimum of 15 working computers.


Our certifications are on par with industry standards. We are AAA NAID Certified (National Association of Information Destruction), meeting or exceeding DOD (Department of Defense) and NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) standards for data sanitization and destruction and compliant with data protection and privacy standards.


We accept a wide variety of electronics and are R2 Certified, meaning 100% of the materials we receive are recycled or reused – nothing ends up in the landfill.
