Can Do Canines will host an open house on Saturday, May 21, from Noon-2 p.m., at its Can Do Canines campus. Potential clients, volunteers, or anyone who might be interested in supporting the organization is invited to attend to learn how an assistance dog changes the life of a person with a disability. Through a self-guided tour, attendees will be able to watch a trainer working with an assistance dog, talk with a Puppy Program volunteer, and meet graduate teams from each of the five types of areas Can Do Canines trains dogs: hearing, mobility, seizure, diabetes and childhood autism. The organization is especially excited to offer this open house, because there is currently a minimal wait list for some types of assistance dogs. All Can Do Canines dogs are provided to clients free of charge. There is no pre-registration for this event, and more information about Can Do Canines can be found online.

Marty Goetz in Concert

8:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Amazing singer, songwriter and pianist, Marty Goetz is back for the 2nd year at the Music Factory! Marty Goetz, with his amazing voice, keyboard skills and Psalmist style of songwriting brings a unique blend of heart-moving power and depth of songs along with hilarious light-hearted banter that manages to come together without making anything seem trite or shallow. Marty is a Messianic Jew (a Jew who believes that Jesus is the promised Messiah) and his music is deeply grounded in Biblical truth that is so beautiful and powerful. His style of music could be compared to Broadway singer Michael Feinstein or songwriters like Stephen Sondheim and Andrew Lloyd Webber. There will be snacks, pop, water, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cider available to purchase during the evening. The Music Factory is on the 2nd floor of the WWI era Old Milk Factory on Rum River in Anoka - which is a non-wheelchair accessible building and there are some stairs to climb. Seating is general admission and the doors open at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $25.00 in advance and $30.00 at the door.

Mitch McVicker in Concert

8:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Mitch McVicker, singer/songwriter/guitarist and former musical partner with the late Rich Mullins, is coming to the Music Factory! With the recording of his 12th album, A Shrugging of the Shoulders, Mitch McVicker gives a nod to his past as he stretches forward. McVicker’s theology is daringly simple - God’s love washes over and through us regardless of our circumstances and situations. McVicker called the album A Shrugging of the Shoulders because he believes that we have “waywardly placed the accumulation of information and having all the correct facts on the highest pedestal.” Tickets are $25.00 in advance and $30.00 at the door. Seating is general admission and doors open at 7:30 PM. There will be coffee, tea, hot cider, soft drinks and packaged snacks available during the event. The Music Factory is located on the 2nd floor of the WWI era Old Milk Factory on the Rum River in Anoka. It is not a wheelchair accessible building and there are some stairs to climb
