Chris’s story

In March 2004, my father died. In the next four months, my mother at 88 years old, not only had to deal with the loss of her husband, but also had amputations on both legs due to calcium build-up / PAD. With God's love, my mom was able to walk again.

Two months shy of turning 91, mom suffered a stroke which took her speech. A week before she passed away, I had KTIS on in my car and I heard Mercyme "I Can Only Imagine."

The words in the chorus were powerful and specific when thinking of my mom who had dealt with amputations and the stroke that robbed her voice.

Mercyme "I Can Only Imagine" chorus:
Will I dance for You Jesus
Or in awe of You be still?
Will I stand in Your presence
Or to my knees, will I fall?
Will I sing hallelujah?
Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine.

I know my mom dances for Jesus, she stands in His presence, and her beautiful voice harmonizes with my father's voice, singing hallelujah together, just like they had done for over 60 years.

Thank you for your music ministry.
