A cooking fire changed eleven-year-old Djoureratou’s life in an instant. The spark ignited her nylon pants as she ran until other women knocked her to the ground, smothering the fire with leaves and branches. Her family was too poor to afford the care she needed. But the operating table, surgical instruments, even the bandages, sent to Global Health Ministries by volunteers and congregations, came as donations from GHM to the Lutheran hospital treating her. Djoureratou received generous, compassionate care where GHM’s partners continue Christ’s healing ministry for all, in His name.
