We have all heard the phrase, “don’t judge a book by its cover.” Well, this story is the perfect example.
If you were to think of a high-stress job, I would imagine that being a police officer probably would be among the first on the list – especially in this day and age!
One day, officer Jeremy was in uniform and working, when he stepped out to get a quick lunch. He went to one of his favorite places and found himself in line behind a large group of bikers. The bikers were giving Jeremy the once-over, and he began to feel a little nervous as they began whispering about him.
Then one biker looked at Jeremy and said, “Hey, you!”
There was a tense moment, and the biker continued, “We want you to go ahead of us”.
As Jeremy walked past the line of large men in their leather jackets, he was surprised to find that each one shook his hand, thanked him, and the group even prayed with him!
And, not to be outdone, the owner told Jeremy that his lunch was “on the house.”
Jeremy said that it was such a nice change of pace to feel appreciated and respected!
Maybe the line should be, “don’t judge a person by their jacket!”
