Every dog owner dreads knowing that there will come a time to say goodbye to a beloved pet.

That’s what one family found out about their dear pup, Cody. Cody always put a smile on his families’ faces, and often added a big, sloppy, wet kiss!

Unfortunately, he started to have some health issues and a vet visit revealed that he had about a month to live. The vet prescribed a nightly pill to help Cody.

Cody’s family decided to make the pill-taking a special time and started going to Burger King and ordering one plain hamburger. The order was so unique that the cashier asked why? Once she had the answer, she had to tell her manager. The manager told the family to keep coming back and that each night the burger was “on the house.”

Everyone hoped that there would be many burgers left in Cody’s life!
