We often hear how the best teachers have an impact on their students outside the classroom as well as inside of it. Well, middle school science teacher, Heather, took that to a whole new level.

Heather had been prepared to donate a kidney to a friend, unfortunately her friend’s health was failing quickly and she told Heather to donate to someone else. Heather’s friend passed away and Heather was heart-broken.

Some time passed, and then Heather heard of a student in her same school district that needed a kidney.

Without hesitation, Heather responded, “I don’t know who this person is, but they need help and I’m willing to give it.”

The student gets to keep on learning thanks to Heather’s impact in the classroom and beyond!

That is a lesson on love.
