“Let another praise you, and not your own mouth. Someone else, and not your own lips.”
– Proverbs 27:2

When you have a big accomplishment, you may want to shout it from the rooftops. It’s hard to find that delicate balance of sharing vs. bragging.

This is so hard because it can feel like if you don’t talk about it yourself then others won’t see your contributions, but the best thing is to let others do the bragging for you.

But let’s say you’re like me and not great at receiving praise anyway, what do you do?

You can be tempted to downplay it or even turn it around into something negative. When we do that, it’s false humility.

So, the best way to humble accept praise is to simply say:

“Thank you.”
