Two of the most powerful female voices in Christian music came together to create something special. CeCe Winans, gospel music legend, re-released her original song “Believe For It” featuring Lauren Daigle. Needless to say, the two make quite a duo.

CeCe Winans, one of the most well-known contemporary female gospel artists, knows how to deliver a performance. As a songwriter, author, and speaker, she utilizes strong, honest writing to carry the importance of the gospel to her listeners and readers.

CeCe’s father was a singer, and her parents raised CeCe and her nine siblings to love and appreciate gospel music. CeCe first performed at their church when she was eight years old. She was especially fond of singing with her older brother, BeBe, and the two released their first gospel album in 1984 when CeCe was just nineteen.

Since then, Winans has won 12 GRAMMY Awards. She’s also won 20 Dove Awards, seven Stellar Awards, and numerous other awards. Winans has found her place in the Gospel Hall of Fame, the Nashville City Walk of Fame, and the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Though her music evolved over time, her love for praising God never shifted. Winans has recorded gospel, pop, and R&B music, first alongside BeBe and later on her own. Even when her work tipped toward secular audiences, Winans intentionally wrote lyrics that could also give praise to God.

Most recently, CeCe brought her strong gospel background into the contemporary worship scene. “Believe For It” has reached more than six million streams on Spotify.

Enter Lauren Daigle. Many fans of Christian music are familiar with her and her inspiring music. She arrived on the Christian music scene in 2015 with her debut EP-turned-album How Can it Be.

Daigle has become a prominent force in Christian radio, winning two GRAMMYs, seven Billboard Music Awards, and four American Music Awards. She’s topped charts and gone triple-platinum, and she’s not slowing down anytime soon.

Daigle grew up in Louisiana, and her soulful voice reflects gospel influences as well. She grew up singing praise and worship music and led worship at her church when she was a teenager. In college, she recorded vocals for a local band, and in 2013, Centricity Music Label signed a recording deal with her.

Since 2013, she’s released the chart-topping albums Behold, a Christmas collection with a strong jazz influence, and Look Up Child, her second GRAMMY Award winner. In 2021, she released three singles: “Hold on to Me,” “Tremble,” and “Believe For It.”

Lovers of “Believe For It” probably never expected this song to become more forceful than it already was. Both artists have extremely powerful voices, and their power is almost overwhelming when combined. But Daigle’s vocals don’t compete with Winans’ in the slightest, and the two blend to complement and support each other.

But these two artists have always fixed their eyes on things greater than fame.

In addition to her library of music, CeCe Winans has other massive projects underway. She’s currently a pastor at Nashville Life Church, the church she helped found. Her family is on this mission with her: Winans’ husband and son are also pastors, and her daughter serves on staff. Together, they are dedicated to bringing the ultimate glory to God.

Cece is an avid supporter of women’s ministry and loves mentoring. She’s also passionate about the young members of the church, and she pours into the lives of kids and young adults. She even founded a young girls’ conference.

Through her work, CeCe seeks to build up other people. She uses the power God gave her to help others find God’s calling for their lives. She chooses not only to help others but also to dedicate her life to that service. CeCe has harnessed the momentum of her career for the good of God’s kingdom, not her own.

Lauren’s momentum, likewise, is only building.

In 2017, Lauren established the Price Fund with the goal of serving men, women, and especially children in the United States and around the world. Many of the Price Fund’s efforts are focused in New Orleans, a city very dear to Lauren’s heart.

The Prince Fund’s recent partnership with The New Orleans Center for Creative Arts has helped provide tuition-free education to students from households with low income. Lauren has a deep love for the arts and for the area, and she desires to make arts education accessible for as many people as she can.

Across the globe, the Price Fund is working with Bob Goff’s Love Does Foundation to build a school for children living in the conflict zone of Goma in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The power of God is working through CeCe Winans and Lauren Daigle. With His help, they’ve accomplished so much, both in their own careers and in the lives of others. Not only do they create music that connects listeners with Christ in a tangible, meaningful way, but they also involve themselves deeply in the work they do for people who need the hope of Jesus.

CeCe Winans and Lauren Daigle’s version of “Believe For It” might just be the encouragement some of us need, especially after the difficult year of 2020.

“They say this mountain can’t be moved
They say these say these chains will never break
But they don’t know You like we do
There is power in Your name
We’ve heard that there is no way through
We’ve heard the tide will never change
They haven’t seen what You can do
There is power in Your name
So much power in Your name” (CeCe Winans, Lauren Daigle, “Believe For It”).

This song is more than a call for God’s help. It’s a fierce declaration of belief that God will do the impossible and guide us through seemingly unworkable circumstances:

“Move the immovable
Break the unbreakable
God we believe
God we believe for it
From the impossible
We’ll see a miracle
God we believe
God we believe for it” (CeCe Winans, Lauren Daigle, “Believe for It”).

We don’t hope for it, we believe for it. God assures us that our belief in Him matters. We see this message in the Old Testament: “‘I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?’” (Jeremiah 32:27).

And we see it in the New Testament:

“‘Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them’” (Mark 11:22-23).

God has the power to do what He promises. CeCe Winans and Lauren Daigle exemplify this, letting God’s power move and work through them.

You can certainly hear it in their voices.
