Shannon was 20 years-old when she gave her life to Christ. She had never experienced any type of abuse. But just 2 years later, as a newlywed, the emotional and verbal abuse by her husband began. Soon it turned physical. One day the abuse got so bad that Shannon’s work supervisor helped her enter a local crisis shelter. It was there that Shannon learned of a longer-term Christian shelter known as The Dwelling Place. Through Christ-centered support and care Shannon’s family is now thriving and she is confident through Christ’s strength she will be able to provide a safe life for herself and her children.
During Domestic Violence Awareness Month would you help others like Shannon by donating to survivors and families? 98.5 KTIS and Slumberland are teaming up to raise awareness and bring hope to those living in a crisis shelter or long-term place of safety and support.
Needed items are listed below. Donations will be distributed locally to The Dwelling Place, Tubman, and Simpson Housing Services. Together we can help break the cycle of abuse in our community by caring for and supporting those fleeing violence in the Twin Cities.
