It’s been a tough year for many reasons, one of the biggest being the racial divisions that have been amplified by events all over, especially one right in my community of the Twin Cities.

As I try to follow the wise words of Micah 6:8 — To Seek Justice, Love Mercy, and Walk Humbly with our God — It has taken me on a journey to discover how to get out of my bubble and learn from the experience of others.

Cara Meredith went on that journey when she fell in love with a son of a black civil rights icon, and the story of her life from that point is one that can shed some much-needed perspective on the current tension and how we can be examples of God’s love no matter what.

Her book is called The Color Of Life, and she shared all about it in the 30 Second Book Club Podcast.
