You do it every day, whether it’s just a quick text to a loved one, an email to a boss, a Facebook post, or a page in the first draft of your book.

Writing is important. And if you want to learn how to write better, you may want to check out  by Carla Bass.

Here’s more from her about the book on the 30 Second Book Club Podcast:

Write to Influence – Carla Bass

Tips from the book

The first step in “word sculpting”

Do a gut dump onto a blank page.  Don’t worry about perfection, just write.  When complete, you essentially have you equivalent to the sculptor’s block of marble.  (5)

Making your resume stand out:

Don’t write a resume that sounds like a job description, detailing elements of the job or required skills; instead, tell what you actually did. (121)

Writing effective emails:

Consider this format or something similar:

  1. Issue
  2. Action and due date
  3. Background
