Maybe you’ve heard that you should learn something new every day. I would agree with that, but I would add one caveat: It has to be something that didn’t come via the internet!  Learning new things and feeding your mind comes from turning off things that are mindless and diving into things that are mindful. You can do that by taking time every day to read!

And the simple step to make that happen is to carry around the book that you want to read wherever you go.  Keep it in your purse so when you’re waiting at the doctor’s office, in the school pick-up line, or waiting for your kid to finish hockey practice, you can reach for a real book instead of checking Facebook.
