There are more distractions in your life than ever before, which makes it harder to actually listen to others.

So how can we make 2019 the year that we all listen better?

Don’t interrupt.

I do this all the time!  And it’s because I have something that I feel like I need to interject right away (which in itself is rude because I’m telling the other person that what I have to say is more important than what they have to say).

But this actually takes me out of the conversation, as I’m thinking about how I’m going to reply instead of letting the words of the person who is talking with me to actually sink in.
