When Clayton Kershaw took the mound for the Dodgers in Game 1 of the World Series, his focus was on winning. But he has found purpose beyond his performance on the mound.
Whether it be pitching on the baseball mound, or living my life outside the baseball field, it’s giving up my life to God that really puts my life in control.
Kershaw sees baseball as a platform, and looks to affect as many people as he can with the platform God gave him. After a trip to Africa, he and his wife felt led to build an orphanage called “Hope’s Home”.
Even with his large platform, he knows he is not big enough.
You can’t think “Oh yeah, we can change this whole country ourselves”. But God can, and it’s one more reason to let go of control.
