My husband and I met when I lived in the cities and was engaged to another man. No, its not like that! We were co-workers. We got to be good friends, nothing more, nothing less! When my ex-fiance left me 2 months before our wedding, Brian was there for me to lean on for support. He wanted more than what I wanted at that time, so we went different ways. We hadn’t seen or spoken to each other for about 4 years. Then one day I got an e-mail from a mutual friend of ours. During this time, I had often wondered what Brian was up to. Was he married, did he have kids, was he still at the same job….and during this whole time, he was thinking the same of me!! So we set a date to meet up again, it was our first date. Labor Day weekend we went to Duluth. That December he asked me to marry him and then in October we were married! Our first child was born in March. This all happened in a year and a half! We will be celebrating our 7th anniversary on October 28th!!!

On a night I wasn’t supposed to be home, I canceled my plans because I was frustrated my new computer I built wasn’t working. I borrowed spare parts from my boss so I could get my old computer hooked up to download files to try and fix the new computer. That night she random messaged me on a chat program named ICQ. That was October 2000, on the 24th of this month we celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary.

So, at the time, I had just broken up with a man I thought I was going to marry, and so after that I resolved to not date again, focus on my children and settle into life. My best friend was dating someone at Video Update, and told her boyfriend how I had been treated, what I had went through. Her boyfriend, told his co-worker, and they decided to go to my ex-boyfriends work and act like he was my new boyfriend. (I still hadn’t met him!) We met the next day, married 10 months later, and have been happily married for 11 years ( as of May 26th!) God always has someone picked out for you!
