Winter in Minnesota is serious. You know that too long in the cold and frostbite can set in. But what about those who can’t simply go inside whenever they would like this winter?
KTIS and the Salvation Army invite you to be the Hands & Feet of Jesus this winter by warming hands and hearts. Simply bring a pair of mittens or gloves to the Mall of America on January 13 when you share a night of music with a free Phil Wickham concert. You can also drop off a pair at KTIS studios. Look for the KTIS barrels.
The mitten and glove drive donations will not only be helping those experiencing homelessness but also those who come to the Salvation Army hot meal programs and food shelf. Often they discover folks who are not prepared for our harsh climate. It is not uncommon for people they see to have had frost bite trauma in their past. Many are surviving with the cotton gloves that are more appropriate for spring or fall. Some people they help are excited to have landed a job, but the excitement gives way to disappointment that they don’t have the right attire to work in the conditions. You get to be the one to help them succeed in life and stay warm.
Thank you for being the Hands & Feet of Jesus.
