God has the final say

If you have ever hit a road block in your life or things have not gone the way you wanted, then you can relate to this conversation I had with Natalie Grant. If you have ever felt that people or situations or the “enemy” has tried to keep you from achieving your goals, be encouraged that nothing can stop what it is that God wants to do through your life. Natalie was derailed several times in her own career before things opened up. I also experienced a holding pattern many years ago and found myself doubting God and wondering where He was in my life. However, James 1 says “Consider it pure joy whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may mature and complete, not lacking anything.” Wow! What a promise! Like I always say, “What God has for you….is for YOU.”
Literally plant this in your heart and in your mind: God has the final say over your life. He has the final say over when your time is done, when the opportunity is past, when the door will never open. He decides, and I had to decide earlier on, is this something that I’m trying to do, something that I’m trying to force, or something that I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God has called and created me to do. I think that everyone has to check their hearts, that if they’re striving for something that YOU want, that isn’t what God planned for your life, you can knock on that door all you want, but you don’t want to walk through that door, because it’s not what He has for you. But when it is something that He has for you, and it’s something that you know in your heart this is what I’m created to do, then you have to determine, no matter how many times someone fails you, or you’re disappointed, He has the final say. A way to keep your encouragement and keep your drive alive is to remember that He has the final say.
